It's been a while....

Sorry, I was just thinking today that it had been a while and by golly, it's been almost a month since my last post!  Where has the time gone!  I've also been working on Noah's 1st Birthday invitation!  Ahhh!  Truly can't believe it's already been a year since our little man came into our lives.
This time last year we were getting so excited for Noah's arrival...  Noah is getting more and more comfortable cruising around the furniture and when we let go of him he'll stand for a little bit.  I just saw him today, for the first time, stand with his hands on the chair playing with a toy and then he let go with both hands to play with the toy, and he stood there, on his own, for what seemed like forever!!! Our little man is learning so much and growing up way too fast!
We are also getting excited to see my grandma for Thanksgiving in Bayse, VA and then Noah's birthday and then up to PA for Christmas with Bob's family!  And then, of course, up to PA again to see our soon-to-be neice, Haley!  Whoa, what a lot to do for the next few months!  We wish you all, all the blessings in the world!

It takes a village....

I have really learned what a blessing a village can be when raising a child. We are truly blessed with the greatest village of all, our family and friends. They have helped us through the tougher, sleepless, times and have helped us celebrate the joyus times! This is a big "Thank You!" to all of them for their time, comfort and support, we couldn't have done all this without you and look forward to many more joyous times and fewer sleepless ones! =)

Noah also had his first outing to the NC State Fair! He loved it so much, seeing all the animals, lights, sounds, and of course his first ride on the carousel! I don't know who was more excited, mommy or Noah. The carousel is mommy's most favorite ride! He didn't take his normal morning nap, but he just couldn't close his eyes for fear of missing a single moment! We went early so it was pretty chilly, but we bundled Noah as only first time parents do, more thoroughly than probably necessary! We sat him on a haystack to get some photos and realized he had never felt hay before, so he stayed focused on that hay despite our many, many efforts to get him to look at the camera! Noah finally crashed while we were walking back to the car, a very happy boy who thoroughly enjoyed his first trip to the fair.

We hope you are all doing well and have a life full of blessings!

Looking back...

I still can't believe it was almost 10 months ago that Noah came into our lives! Now he is already eating "real" food like chicken, carrots, wheat bread and of course his all time favorite, Cheerios! Bob & I are getting ready for our very first outing without Noah, and we mean a whole weekend out of town without him! It's going to be hard, we will definitely miss him, but it is also a needed weekend to ourselves. It should be fun, it's for a wedding on the shore of New Jersey.

Noah's also found a new fascination with balloons! He got one at the store the other day from a nice man and then we had to get him another one today from the dollar store. He loves looking at it wiggle around and he loves hitting it! Well, he loves hitting anything, he's such a boy!

Anyways, thanks for stopping by and I'll try and be better about posting something more often!

Our love to you all....

Here comes trouble...

Well, Noah is starting to understand the word "no" when his mouth finds things that shouldn't be eaten (which is pretty much everything he can get his hands on). He's also starting to show a little 'tude when he doesn't get what he wants! He's also learning CPR technique as you can see from above! Our little guy is growing up and making his way in life! He's also started full fledged crawling (no belly on the ground)! No army crawl anymore. Our man love his Cheerios too, I think he could eat them all day! We started yogurt this week, but not sure if its working out yet. We also want to congratulate Betsy & Joe on finding out their having a baby girl!! YAY! Love you all!

Whoa, 9 months??

Noah's 9 month landmark is coming up soon and I truly can't believe how quickly time has flown. He just started a new sound, "dada". I don't think it counts as a word until he knows the meaning ;) But that's just "mama" talkin'. =) Noah went to his first rodeo last night and had a good time, for the small amount of time he was there (he had to be back by his curfew!). Mommy and daddy had an afternoon out this past weekend and went to see Dark Knight and have lunch! We had a great time and the movie was GREAT! We hope you all are doing well and we can't wait to put up another post of Noah's next great accomplishment!

8 Months!

I truly can't believe its been 8 months and on the same note, it feels like it's been longer! Noah has gotten such a personality. He loves to take in new things and go on adventures. You can see from his little furrowed brows that he's just soaking it in and wondering what's going on. Sometimes it's hard to get a good laugh going with him, but he just makes you work for it! The payoff is so wonderful to hear his big 'ol belly laugh! The 3 of us went to the park today and we had him laughing on the swing. He loves going outside because there's always something new and exciting. He loves crawling around in the grass, its a good change from boring home! Here's a little video of his laugh fest!

He's on all two's!

Yep, that's right, Noah's moved from all fours and is standing strong and the couch is loving it! It happened in a matter of days and is still unbelievable to me how quickly these big changes are happening. I remember how small he was when he was born and seeing those clothes he used to wear, it's just so amazing and sad at the same time! Here's some picture of his new moves! He's also developing some new puff skills, he's been getting treated to yummy Gerber's sweet potatoe puffs! Yum, yum!

Beach Time!

Well, we just got back from the Outer Banks and are somewhat happy to be back! I don't think anyone is ever fully ready to come home from the beach. Noah experienced his first encounter with sand and the ocean and he LOVED IT! We think he could probably play with the sand for hours and be just fine. Although he did have some initial issues trying to get his naps in the first couple days, he seemed to adjust fairly quick and even slept in a few days! We are glad to be back home though and Noah is as well. We think he missed all his freedom and toys and might have got a little homesick! Hopefully we can take another trip back there when he's a little older and can enjoy it a little more. For the most part it was a very enjoyable break from the everyday grind. We'll talk to everyone again soon!

Congrats!

Wanted to congratulate my niece,Ashtyn, on graduating highschool and soon will be joining the college crowd! We had a great time this past weekend celebrating and enjoying a fantastic cake fight!!! Icing really does give you that soft skin and silky hair! Mommy had an especially great time learning the art of the 4 wheeler! What a thrill!!!! =)

Noah is still working on teething, he has his 2 bottom teeth still moving up and we can't wait to see his new smile when his teeth are fully in! Noah's first long trip in a while went great when he wasn't in the car! =) He gave daddy a lot of trouble on the way up there and was able to sleep more on the way back. Who likes to be in a car for a long time anyways?

Hope everyone is doing well and we can't wait to put a new post up soon with Noah crawling!!! It's going to be soon!

Love you all!

It's been a while....

Sorry I haven't posted lately! We've been really busy with some of Noah's firsts! He is now scooching around (we're not ready to call it a crawl yet) but he's movin' and groovin'! This morning we found his first tooth breaking through! We also took him for the first time to the pool and sat him in the grass for the first time! We are trying hard to keep up with our little guy! Enjoy pics of some of his firsts!

As for mommy and daddy, we are just enjoying our bundle and living each day to its' fullest!

All our love.

What's up yo!

Noah definitely likes the chill life. He's been rollin' around his crib like crazy yo! He's also been grabbing both feet and everything goes in the mouth! He started sweet potatoes this week and is loving them. Noah says hey to everyone and hope you are all having a great week!

Proud mama and papa...

Noah's had a lot of big firsts this week! The past 2 nights he has slept 11 hours straight, not a peep! He's also been taking naps at around the same time each day! He also rolled over from his back to tummy! And last but not least, he held his bottle all on his own! He sure likes to eat so it's no surprise that he's eager to get control of the bottle! =) Noah is really enjoying the outside in this great, warm weather! He loves to look at all the caterpillars.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Christy & Nathan on the birth of Chayse! Way to go guys!

Always, all our love!

Sleep, what's that?

Last week I let Noah cry it out one night and, wow, so glad I did it! He's finally learned how to go to sleep on his own ( we miss rocking him to sleep, but this is a must-learn trait!) Well last night, we decided to let him cry a bit when he gets up at midnight and he went back to sleep until 5am! That's 10 hours without a feeding! He's so awesome and such a great learner! Let's hope for an uninterrupted sleep tonight! We can always hope, right?

Noah's also started an early bedtime of about 7:30pm so Bob & I are enjoying being able to see eachother and talk for a while! We've missed eachother!

Love you all and hope you are doing well!

Nothin' New

Not much is new around here...well, I'll take that back, we've finally found the "click" in Noah's routine. We tried a new formula with rice starch in it and the first night he only woke up once! And he is now eating 8 oz. at every feeding, the little oinker! No wonder he wasn't all that happy with breastfeeding anymore! He' s been napping a lot today, a 3 hour morning nap and now we're going on a 2 hour afternoon nap! It's crazy! Maybe its just a growth spurt.

Bob & I are doing great, we had a night out baby free to say hello to each other and catch up on our lives! It was great and the grandparents love to help us out. ;)

Oh no not the "s" word!

Yep, that's right, shots! Noah had is 4 month checkup this morning along with 4 shots and an oral vaccine. =( He did so well and was so brave, a lot braver than mommy and daddy! He cried for a few seconds and was fine when they were done. He then zonked out on the way home. Everything is going great. He weighs 15 lbs, 12.5 oz. and is 25 inches long. He was the 70th percentile for weight and head size and the 50th for length. So he's our little chunker! And this week Bob & I will decide his next food to introduce other than cereal, his real first taste of some real food! What will it be??? Wait and see!

A thought....
In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

Yay for cereal!

Noah had his first bite of rice cereal last night and it went so great! He was like a pro after the first bite. We figured he would be the way he's always eaten since he was born. We didn't take any pictures, sorry! He was really hungry so we had to work fast! But we did tape it, so I'll try and figure how to get it up here soon!

A thought...
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard??

Rice what?

Yep, we're gearing up for Noah's first rice cereal experience tonight! He's very excited and we'll post pics as soon as we can.

Bob is in a deep, dark depression from the Canes' close encounter with the playoffs. However, I think Teresa & Noah will enjoy seeing him again =)

Not much more has happened, Noah is eating more and we're waiting for the sleeping more part!

Again, hope everyone is doing well!

Let's see, we've got the Godfather picture from Easter, a "Hey what are you toys doing all the way over there, come here!" and a "I got my thumb, I got my thumb!"

Hey there!

Well I saw all our friends with blogs and said well, let's give it a try! What would I do if our friends asked us to jump over a bridge too? Well, as a good friend once said, "I'd jump over to save them!"

We had our first son, Noah, on December 13, 2007 with no complications! It was a 26 hour labor, but about 10 hours of that was very nicely medicated. I thought about going natural, but sooo glad I didn't, the epidural was so nice!

We are now in our fourth month and we experienced that 3 month miracle turnaround that everyone said would happen. Noah is so happy now! We had a lot of gas and reflux related issues with him but have worked them out and are moving on to bigger things like getting enough food (he's a hefty eater) and sitting up. He has been a blessing to watch and we feel so fortunate each and every day to have him. We're having so much fun with him, we can't even imagine having another one, but I'm sure we will someday.

Bob & I are doing well. Bob is praying for the Canes to make a comeback and make it to the playoffs. I'm just hoping for more than 4/5 hours of sleep at a time. =)

We hope you all are well, we wouldn't be anywhere without our friends and family. You are all so very important to us and truly make our lives more blessed each day!
